Battle of Salme
The Battle of Salme began with an attack from bowmen. The rain of arrows hit the ships and the men causing the first casualties. Fierce close combat ensued with swords clashing and piercing.
Exhibition "Vikings before Vikings"
The findings from the ships in Salme have returned to Saaremaa and will be put on display on 21 May 2021 at the exhibition ‘Vikings before Vikings’ in Saaremaa Museum.
