Major events on the islands
The islands have a range of major events with long-standing traditions that shape visitors holiday plans. In addition to these grand occasions, the atmosphere throughout the year is enriched by smaller concerts, theater performances, sports events, and many other delightful gatherings. Delightful concerts
Throughout summer, folk culture evenings, summer concerts and live music nights in restaurants indulge the musical appetites of locals and visitors alike. The islands host a wide variety of music events at which you can enjoy different musical styles and performers. In addition to major events, a cosy feeling is created at smaller concerts, plays, sporting events and a host of other great events throughout the year where you can encounter local artists, discover new favourites and enjoy a more intimate atmosphere. The varied locations and beautiful natural scenery on Saaremaa give each event a special backdrop, making them an unforgettable experience. Many cafés and restaurants regularly organise live music nights at which you can enjoy good music alongside delicious food and drink.
Local gardens open to the public
If you can, talk to locals for tips on the best beaches, fishing spots and events on the islands. On a number of occasions during summer they also open up their gardens and courtyards for the public to admire, whether it’s to open a home café or showcase their everyday activities. Either way, this is a great opportunity to get a glimpse into real lives of locals.
