Spas

Estonia's first mud resort was opened right here in Saaremaa in 1824. Today, what began as a modest sanatorium has evolved into a remarkable resort offering a diverse range of services, with eight different spa hotels ready to welcome guests all year around.

Saaremaa is a true paradise for spa lovers. Estonia’s first mud baths were set up here in the first half of the 19th century when mud with excellent medicinal properties was discovered in Kihelkonna. This was where the first medical spa in Estonia was established in 1824. After that, Kuressaare quickly developed into a resort. Ladies and gentlemen from Germany, Russia, Finland and Sweden came here to improve their health. Since then, our proud resort town has lost none of its appeal. There’s something here to suit all tastes. Just keep an eye on spa offers!

Today there are eight unique spa hotels on Saaremaa, each offering lovely vacations. There’s probably no other city in the world so full of spas – here there’s one space place for every 10 inhabitants! Hundreds of relaxing treatments have joined mud baths: body-toning massages, juniper treatments, pampering wraps and more. Dozens of different pools and saunas are also perfect for nourishing mind and body.

Each of our spa hotels has its own unique character. There’s something for everyone. Let us introduce our spas to you in all their glory. Perhaps that way it will be easier for you to choose where to spend your holiday.

Just 10 steps from Kuressaare’s main street, the Arensburg spa is an oasis of peace and tranquillity. You’ll often find a musician singing or playing an instrument in the hotel’s restaurant on weekends. Why not spend a spa break weekend right here?
