Hunting in Saaremaa

Rich in wild animals, Saaremaa forests attract hunters as elks, deer and wild boars are common here. A real dream of a hunter is to catch a red deer with big antlers, in Saaremaa and Hiiumaa they can be met most often.

Wild boars can be hunted almost a year round. A moderate climate allows wild boars to breed easily and the islanders complain about them being a nuisance as they dig up potato and hayfields.

No one can go hunting on his own: hunters are hosted by a number of holiday farms in Saaremaa and hunting tourists are taken in the forest under the guidance of experienced game wardens.
